Abstract:In this paper, a novel compact microstrip low-pass filter with nonuniform microstrip resonant cells is designed. The proposed filter is formed by cascading the four nonuniform 1-D microstrip photonic bandgap (PBG) cells, while each unit cell was designed with different cutoff frequency etched on the 50Ω microstrip line. The demonstration low-pass filter with the cutoff frequency of 2.2GHz is designed, fabricated and measured. The measurement results show that the band rejection level is more than 20dB from 2.8GHz to 10GHz, the insertion is less than 2dB, and the length of it is 5.6cm. Compared with the conventional filter, this method overcomes the problems of narrow stop-band, low harmonic suppression and has an advantage of miniature circuit size. Moreover, it does not need to consider the impedance matching.

Abstract:Leaky wall of substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) is modeled by a conductor-dielectric periodic (CDP) dyad conductivity, the analysis can establish governing equation for electromagnetic waves including the leaky wave in CDP SIW, and an effective design tool for CDP radiator in turn, can be derived. Setting model parameters period, average conductivity and modulation index according to actual CDP radiator, the calculation results of frequency-scanning are in good agreement with experiment data, which verified the validity of the model and the suitability of the design tool.

Abstract:We propose a parallel data acquisition system (DAS) for ultra wideband (UWB) signal in this paper. In our system, a time-windowed signal is sampled by projecting onto a set of random signals. The recovery of signal is computational tractable, which is just a linear calculation of matrix. These procedures can be implemented by low-rate analog-to-digital convertors and other conventional hardware devices. The recovered signal is with high accuracy due to the appropriate strategies of error suppression. The simulation results confirm that the proposed DAS has the potential to achieve high-rate high-accuracy data acquisition of UWB signals. Unlike other systems that need to generate specific basis functions, or design a hybrid filter bank, or utilize an accurate short time shift at radio frequency or work for signals with prior knowledge, our DAS is universal and it is easy to be designed and implemented.

Abstract:The negative bias temperature instability (NBTI), gate oxide breakdown (BD), and HCI (hot carrier injection) are the major wear-out effects on the Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) integrated circuit reliability as the CMOS device becomes smaller, especially in the nanoscale size. This paper summarizes much of the recently developed research about the CMOS integrated circuit (IC) design for reliability: from physical level to the circuit level. The tools and algorithm for the CMOS IC design for reliability are also summarized in this paper. It surveys the crucial topics of the CMOS IC design for reliability and the technology to improve the circuit robustness to the wear-out effects.

Abstract:Low loss flexible dielectric and magnetic composite with SrTiO3 (STO) ultrafine particles and NiZn ferrite (NZO) ultrafine particles embedded in a Thermoplastic Polyolefin Elastomer (POE) matrix was fabricated using the extrusion technology. The dielectric and magnetic properties of the as-prepared composites with different volume fraction of ceramic fillers were investigated. The results indicate that with the increasing of the volume of ceramic fillers, the permittivity, permeability, dielectric loss and magnetic loss of the composites all increase. As the volume of the ceramic filler was fixed, with the increasing of the ratio of STO phase to NZO phase, the permittivity and dielectric loss of the composites increase while the permeability and magnetic loss decrease. The cut-off frequencies of the composites are all above 1GHz. Because of the low resistivity of NZO, the dielectric loss of the composites is high in low frequency range and decrease with frequency increasing. Good frequency stability of the electromagnetic properties within a wide frequency range was observed. With the increasing of the volume of ceramic filler, the tensile strength increases and elongation decreases. All the composites show very good flexibility. Such flexible magnetic-dielectric three-phase composites could be used in high-frequency communications for the capacitor-inductor integrating devices such as electromagnetic interference filters and antennas.

Abstract:Normally, both currents and voltages are needed to solve parameters of differential equations of Maxwellian Circuits. In this paper, a technique of voltage cancellation is applied to the theory of Maxwellian Circuits for solving linear wire antennas and scatterers. Its advantage is that only currents are used to seek parameters of differential equations, voiding the process of solving voltages with currents and simplifying calculation. The computational results show that the technique is reliable.

Abstract:With the current and future requirements of space-borne microwave and millimetric wave instruments, particularly for earth observation, there has been considerable research effort put into large reflector antenna system worldwide. Dichroic are key components in the design of large reflector antenna systems. But the measurement performance of dichroic is usually different from simulation result, this problems will degrade the performance of the whole antenna systems very seriously. This paper presents the analysis of fabrication errors of two-layers dichroic for quasi-optical network, The Inter-layer Separation Distance (ISD) and the Unit cell Aligning Error (UAE) was modelled and analysised. The results show that The ISD and UAE will degrade the performance of the dichroic obviously, and the dichroic of rectangular elements is very sensitive to the UAE on X direction rather than that of the Y direction.

Abstract:Wireless sensor networks may be used in the explosion environment, such as underground tunnel in coal mine. In order to assure that nodes work normally, the power of the node must be intrinsic safety. An intrinsic safety power of nodes of which consists of power supply and intrinsic safety protection is developed. The power supply mainly consists of current-mode controller chip LTC1871 which controls the output voltage, can attains a stable output voltage. The intrinsic safety protection consists of a dual-stage electric current monitor chip and a voltage regulator tube, which is combined with an over-voltage protection that was integrated in LTC1871 to make up intrinsic safety protection circuit of double over-voltage and over-current protection. The theory analysis and simulation tests on discharge process of intrinsic safety power are described. The results display that the discharge energy is the nonlinear proportion of the current, increases with the current increasing, and the maximum discharge energy is less than 0.02mJ; the discharge power is the linear proportion of current, increases with the current increasing, and the maximum discharge power is less than 60W, which is within the permissible intrinsic safety standard, therefore the power is the intrinsic safety.

Abstract:In this paper, silver powders with a uniform particle size of 0.2~0.4 µm and excellent dispersibility were applied to make conductive ink for inkjet printing process. The thermal behaviors of silver particles sintered at different temperature were investigated by XRD pattern. It was found out that, during the sintering process, not only particle size increased but also the crystal grains in the particles grew. A drop-on-demand (DOD) inkjet printing system was employed to print conductor using as-mentioned silver particles suspended in terpineol / polyketone (PK) system as conductive material. When the value of WPK/W silver was 5%, the resistivity of conductor was low to 2.0 µΩ•cm, and then it increases as the ratio increasing. Generally speaking, with increasing weight ratio of PK, the adhesion strength of conductor increases. The microstructures of silver conductor were analyzed by SEM, and the results showed that the densification of conductor and long-range inter-particle connectivity give the silver conductor a low resistivity. The adhesiveness effect from PK resin gives conductor the high adhesion strength.
